The Autonomous Community of The Canary Islands


Consisting of 8 islands, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa. Covering a land area of 7500 sq.km. and with a population of almost 2 million inhabitants. There are two provinces which are Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. These two provinces each has a capital, so that the capital of the region as a whole is shared between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
